All the highlighters you need to know.

Highlighting our faces has become huge in the past year nearly as much as brows. I am a huge fan of highlighting my face, it instantly brightens up my faces and distracts those tired eyes in the morning. I feel so naked without it, I will not go a day without wearing it whether it’s a soft subtle glow or a statement either one I just love them. I have picked a few that I think at least one will suit your style of make-up looks.

Mac Skin finish Soft and Gentle

I have being using this products for over a year on clients and myself, it’s definitely my go to highlight product.

It is a soft powder with a frost finish. It is a warm tone highlight with peachy and champagne tones with a tint of gold. It applies softer than it looks in the packaging  but in a good way, it’s a perfect hint of shimmer, more of a glow. It’s very easy to apply with its velvet texture , its build-able for night-time,but perfect for day time. It would suit all skin tones.

it comes in approx 6 more shades, perfect topping is also a lovely one to try

overall rating 5 stars €30.00

Sleek contour Palette

I use this on a daily basis as its so convenient. It is a small compact palette one side is your contouring and the other a highlighter with a mirror.. Super handy to carry around in your bag when im on the go.

The contouring shade is a nice matte cool tone. Its one of my favorite contouring shades, some contouring shades can be too warm which doesn’t give a natural look. The palette comes in light , medium and dark. I personally find the medium and dark a bit more orange but the light is perfect for our Irish skin tones.

The highlighter is very pigmented, it’s a pearl/champagne tone, apply lightly as it can be a bit powdery if that makes sense but lovely when applied.

It is fantastic value for €8.00 euro, its perfect for young girls on a budget  and also as a travel kit in your handbag

Nars illuminator

This is a Cream illuminator, it is a multi purpose used product. It’s a pearlised pale pink, a little goes a long way believe me,It is very pigmented.

You will either love or hate this product!!!

I think it suits the fairer skin types. It can be applied in different ways, under the foundation, over your foundation or mixed with it. I personally prefer under my foundation on the cheekbones as it gives a natural look. When applied over your foundation especially if you are not good with blending (i also recommend a brush to apply ) it can look unnatural but if you love the Kim k trend you will love it. I love strong contouring and highlighting but that’s not everyone’s taste

Using a small amount with a good blending brush this product will look soft and pearlised, especially under your foundation it is beautiful on brides.

Orgasm is another shade which is more of a peachy colour which is more of a natural look that would blend better into skin tones  which is also a must have. Price is approx €30 which is a bit expensive I would rate it higher if price was slightly cheaper.

mac hush

Hush is a creme based product. It is a warm toned  highlight with a peachy frost finish. It is a multi use product which can be used on the cheeks, lips and eyes which does what it says unlike some multi used products out there. It is light not sticky or oily on the skin, its glides on easy and is easy to blend as it takes about 30 secs to fully dry. Although it says a frost finish I would say more of a sheen but it’s build-able which I do love about this products. Retails at €20 which is think is very good

overall rating 5 stars

I always forget about this product in my kit, when I use it I remember how amazing it is. It comes in a decent size pot and basic packaging, it  will last you forever as you literally one need the bare amount. It is labelled as a multi use product can be used on cheekbones ,eyes and brow bone. It is very pigmented and is a soft dust texture. It gives a gorgeous golden glow but apply sparingly and blend blend, blend. It reflects the light beautifully when applied correctly. Retails at €18 which will last a lifetime worth a buy.

A champagne or peach tone would be lovely on you. Mac hush is very soft it would work against your pale skin.
