Bride of the month

Bride of the month

Hope you are all having a lovely week. I’m back to show you again my bride of the month. I love doing bridal makeups its so different than regular day to day makeups, its much more personal.

I find as a makeup artist you really get to know the bride as a person, which I love. It is very important as I need to create a makeup style to suit their personality. A brides day is the most important day of their life so its so awarding to enjoy the moment with them.

Tina was a spring 2016 bride, I know this seems like a lifetime ago now as the months have just flew this year. Where has the time gone?. I always wait for brides to send me professional photos of the day to post up a blog ,as it lets me show you the special moments of the day.

Tina was the nicest person ever and so calm.

Her makeup was Glowing and flawless. Look at that highlight.

Foundation was Mac Studio fix fluid and Nars radiant creamy concealer.

The eyes were all Matte tones with lashes and smoked in the waterline to add definition.

Lisa – Bride of the month

Lisa – Bride of the month

I had the pleasure of doing Lisa’s bridal makeup on the 8th July 2016 in Douglas Co.Cork. I arrived in the early morning to the stunning Maryborough Hotel

I set my area up in the outstanding bridal suite. It was filled with natural lighting which was a massive bonus for me, I was ready to get into the job. Lisa was surrounded by friends and family and everyone was calm and relaxed.  They were enjoying each and every moment. It was a pleasure to be part of the day.

I did a trial on Lisa a few months back so we were both happy to keep the same look we originally discussed . We decided to go for a soft glam eye with a simple flick liner to had definition and to add volume to her lashes. The complexion was flawless with perfectly sculpted cheeks with a soft rosy blush to the apples of the cheek.

Lisa’s Dress was stunning. It was elegant with a classic twist, it suited her to a tee. The veil was absolutely mind-blowing, it was the most amazing veil I have seen over my years of doing bridal parties. I took these two photos myself the morning of the wedding to capture the detail.

Her dress and veil was from Folkster In Co. Kilkenny.

The  nude bridesmaids dresses were from Asos , very simple but just so beautiful and complemented Lisa’s stunning gown.

Bride of the month

The new year is about new beginnings and starting a new chapter in your life. So what a way to start the year by marrying the one you love and creating a beautiful story.

Michelle and Mark got married on the 8th January 2016 and celebrated their reception at Mount Wolsley Hotel Tullow Co.Carlow. The lovely couple arrived in style on the hotel grounds in a helicopter. I know amazing right? Talk about a moment not to forget.

The morning of the wedding Michelle and her two bridesmaids were very calm and cheerful despite a very early start they were excited about the day ahead.

Michelle wanted a make-up look that would suit the theme of the day. So I took into account the time of year , décor, styles of dress and what would suit Michelle to perfection.

The Make-up was a classic look with my unique style. I went for warm brown shades on the eyes which I used The blank canvas master palette. I added a tint of champagne pigment on the lid to really make them eyes pop perfect for the Christmas season. The skin was fresh with a dewy glow with chiselled cheekbones and a peach tone blush on the apples of the cheeks. I finished off with a bold Deep red lip. I LOVE red lips on brides for a christmas wedding it’s so festive.

Product list:

Nars radiant creamy concealer

Chanel universal bronzing cream

I Also had the pleasure of working with Michelle’s two Beautiful Bridesmaids Aine and Denise. Look at them stunning Faces.

The Wedding venue looked magical with the Christmas lights and every aspect of the day complemented each other. I was glad to be a part of her day and wish her the best in the future.

Must Have beauty products for Summer.

Its been a while since a posted on this i have a had a hectic few weeks but i am back and have loads to talk about.

Summer has Hit Ireland over the past few days and I really hope it lasts. I love summer , long evening walks, blue fresh skies I just feel so much more energetic in the summer. Its time to pack up them winter clothes and to start showing our flesh again.  So here are a few beauty products to help you look and feel great after those long winter dull months when heading out into the sun.

  • Clinique Spf factor . Spf is a must for our face in the summer, Uva, Uvb rays are extremely harmful for our skin,  firstly it causes skin cancer but we want to prevent them wrinkles and skin pigmentation. Over the years I have found  it difficult to find a face spf that didn’t infere with my makeup. they were either too thick, oily, shiny and makeup just wouldnt  adhere to my makeup but I found this holy grail and its amazing.
  • Foundation: This can be a tricky one for us girls. The humid weather increases the chances of your foundation melting from our face. So it does depend on two things what type of coverage we want? what type of skin type we have? It depends on personal choice.

Mac: Face and body foundation

This is a great foundation, its quick and easy to apply. It’s a sheer but buildable coverage that gives a beautiful natural glow to the skin. It’s suitable for all skin types, water-resistant and long wearing. Apply powder if you require more coverage and it will hold makeup for a longer period.

Mac Prolongwear: A long wearing foundation suitable for humid condition, it controls oil but allows your skin to breathe. II would say its a medium coverage. I would highly recommend Pro longwear as it’s not too cakey for summer

Estee lauder Double wear: Super long wearing foundation lasting 15hrs even without primer or powder. It has a matte finish and liquid consistency, medium to full coverage. I love this foundation for going out but for a day in the sun i think it is too full on that’s just my opinion. If you like full coverage then this is the one for you. It’s a fantastic (1)

  • Tan:  A nice glowing tan is a must have but after the long winter months and irish skin we are milk bottles lol so we need a solution quickly . Instant tans are fantastic which are  quick and easy tan but not so great if you decide to go swimming then you will be left looking like a zebra, so ifs that’s the case opt for a gradual tan and use both accordingly to what suits the situation best.

My two favorite instant tans are academie instant tan and good reliable sally hanson.

Academie bronze express is a liquid formula, I wouldn’t advise for a beginner as it can be messy. I love that you can see where i am applying the tan and it has a low tan odour, that really bothers me about tans. it doesn’t transfer into my clothes,  It’s not cheap and its small enough but i would give it a 9/10

Sally hanson: This is just so  handy and reliable, long-lasting and retails at €10. Just spray onto my body and use the glove to blend. I did find it can transfer onto my clothes but now I use a towel and give my body a quick rub down and it works wonders, perfect tan for the handbag and holidays.

Skin illuminator . Apply to your cheekbones to give a skin a sun kissed glow, can also be applied on collar bones, front of legs when the sun hits it, it looks fantastic.

  • Nail polish. Get yourself a pedicure at the start of the summer, most of us neglected our little feet over the winter period. Invest in a few nails polishs to mix and match to your outfits. I find the Rimmel polishs good quality and affordable.
